When her last job ends abruptly, Lucy knows she has little time to spare if she wants to get back to Meridune before her friend dies. Unfortunately, the recent Bombardment makes travel harder than usual. With the East/West train out indefinitely, Lucy must find another way home.

On the way, Lucy comes across a town that needs a Hired Hand. Anticipating nothing but trouble, Lucy rejects the job… until she can’t.

Join Lucy and Mortimer as they travel by horseback across the Broken States and fail to stay out of trouble.
