Daily Prompt: Parking

From The Grey House, Book One:

Charlie took his food and handed hers over. The cook had cut her burger as ordered, which made it easier for Natalia to handle the food with one hand. They ate in silence, exchanging glances, but not wanting to say too much. As always, Charlie finished her leftovers. Natalia leaned back in her seat, sipping on her chocolate shake. It was thick and rich, just the way she liked it. Once finished with the food, Charlie took the containers and bags out to the trash. After making sure she didn’t need to use the restroom, he started the van and left the parking lot for the highway. It was fifteen minutes before either of them spoke.
