His hand went to her necklace, touching it lightly, then dropping to his side. “This is not a part of your new life Natalie. It is a trapping of your old life. You must leave it all behind, Natalie, or you will not be able to accept God into your heart.”
Natalia touched her necklace. There was no way she was taking it off. It was definitely part of her past and she was not letting it go. Zechariah saw her hesitation and anger stole across his mild features.
“Natalie. Don’t disappoint me.” He did not hide the annoyance in his voice. It was the same voice he used before whipping or beating her.
