Daily Prompt: Mother

From Inside the Grey House:

Rebecca leaned back against the desk, chewed on her lip and plunged ahead. “I’m pregnant.” Vincent raised an eyebrow; Markus made a noise and Charlie blushed. “Do you remember how my mother was when she was pregnant with me, sir?”

Vincent nodded his head once, slowly in affirmation. Rebecca’s mother became rather dangerous in her later months. “You’re leaving then?”

“As long as you approve.” There was a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

Vincent snorted then smiled. “And Charlie?”

Daily Prompt: Warn

From Inside The Grey House:

Vincent reached around, grasped the blade and pulled the sword slowly out of his body. As he removed the sword, he healed himself, trying hard to control the amount of blood seeping from his wound. He could still afford to lose more blood, but the more he lost, the slower he would become, giving her more opportunity to win. Joseph stood beside him again, whispering his warning from earlier.

“She may win, with her weapon.”

“Except now, I have one too.” He held the sword in his hand, feeling its weight, wondering if it would help or hinder him.

Daily Prompt: Nature

From Inside the Grey House:

“Vincent, love. You forget your place.” There was a hard edge to her teasing tone.

“And you, lady sire, forget my nature.” He was caressing the line of her breast, loving the feel of her soft skin, wishing she were warm. He closed his eyes, tried to pull away; realized she wasn’t letting him.

She caught the look in his eye, not really surprised. They had been in this situation before, he always tried to run; she never let him. “Vincent? Why pull away? Let your desires loose upon me. At least I can take it.”

“You’re not whom I wish to be with.” He reached around to pry her hands loose.

“She’s quite the human, to keep my favorite from my bed.” She moved her hands from his head to the waistline of his pants.

Daily Prompt: Continue

From Inside the Grey House:

When Vincent found out that one of his people were betraying him or in any way hurting one of his own, he let the deceit continue to its fruition. He had the betrayer watched until the full extent of the lies were revealed. Then, when he was sure the betrayer was at his or her peak, Vincent snared the person and exacted revenge befitting the depth of the treachery. Lorraine believed in stopping the deceiver as quickly as possible and found that killing a betrayer swiftly was just as meaningful a deterrent. Consequently, Lorraine hardly ever used her dungeon.

Daily Prompt: Support

From Inside the Grey House:

Natalia raced from the front door to the garage door as she heard it open. Vincent was in the lead. She nearly knocked him down as she flew into his arms. His arms wrapped around her and he sank to his knees, unable to support her weight. Anthony had been able to supply them with blood, but only a sufficient amount to be strong enough to get home. He didn’t have as many humans on hand as Vincent did. They stopped at several homeless shelters and dark alleys until they had fed enough to be safe before coming home, but they all needed more. It was a credit to their self-control that no humans died in the feeding frenzy.

Daily Prompt: High

From Inside the Grey House:

“Don’t say that until you’ve seen me around Vincent. Where is he anyway?” She was walking around, getting comfortable with the shoes.

“Downstairs in his office.” Lilly stood, heading for the door. “He’s almost ready to see you.”

Natalia held her head high. As she didn’t feel dizzy, she walked at her normal pace to the door, reaching it before Lilly. “Well, I’m ready to see him. Let’s go.”

Daily Prompt: Truth

From Inside the Grey House:

“Go home, Anthony. This doesn’t concern you.”

A muscle twitched in Anthony’s jaw as he held his tongue. He bowed curtly and left, stewing in his own thoughts.

Vincent watched him leave, wondering if he should tell his loyal friend the truth. Vincent shook his head. He wanted to trust Natalia without thought, and therefore needed someone else to distrust her for his and his people’s safety.

Daily Prompt: Consume

From Inside the Grey House:

Natalia gasped. She pushed him back to look in his eyes. “How did you know?”

His grin was pure evil. “I have my ways.”

Natalia gasped again as he plunged deep into her. She shuddered as his icy length chilled her. Vincent growled low and long as her wet heat surrounded and encased him. He felt his desires coming back to claim him. His eyes closed as a wave of hunger consumed his thoughts. The image of the human he had devoured the night before came back to him, as did the memory of what he and Lorraine had done to each other. He opened his eyes and stared down at the human in his arms, unseeing. The image of the carnage he and Lorraine had done to each other’s body swam before his eyes. He and Natalia couldn’t do most of what he and Lorraine had done, but they could do some.

Daily Prompt: Angle

From Inside The Grey House:

Natalia had seen the bald-headed man before, but it wasn’t quite right. He was staring back at her, almost trying not to look. She squinted at him, trying to picture him with hair. There was something about his eyes….

Vincent and Joseph were watching Natalia. Both knew something was up but were loath to say anything. The young girls were out of the room and safe, but they still had to appease Edwin. Natalia was ignoring him completely as she scanned the crowd. Vincent tried to follow her gaze, but just couldn’t. He was standing at the wrong angle. He watched her as something clicked inside her head and a look almost like fear crossed her features.

Daily Prompt: Dominant

From Inside The Grey House:

Vincent allowed her actions, as his nostrils filled with the smell of her blood. He enjoyed playing the submissive with her. It had always been the same between them. He could over power her, take what he wanted and leave her whimpering for more, but had no desire to do so. Since their first encounter, she held the dominant position. After nearly three hundred years, neither felt the need to change roles. The massive vampire allowed the diminutive woman to do as she pleased, as his wants and desires grew.
