Daily Prompt: Full

From The Grey House:

Keith gave him a blank stare, and then his eyes grew very wide indeed. The shriek he let loose was louder and longer than any noise either of the other bouncers had uttered. Vincent smiled mildly as Joseph stepped forward to unlock the shackles. Keith kicked at him, and a Blitzkrieg stepped forward to hold the young vampire against the wall. There was no fighting after that. Fully fed, Keith could have struggled, but he was a day without blood, and the Blitzkrieg was well fed and happy. It was a new moon; she was in full control. Keith did not stand a chance.

Daily Prompt: Glimpse

From The Grey House:

All mirth dropped from Natalia’s attitude. She stopped walking and faced off with Marshal. Her hands became fists. “My first glimpse of the devil was when I was 10. I’ve seen him many times in many forms since. I have yet to see evidence of your God.”

“Zechariah’s right. The devil has already claimed you.”

Natalia gave him a devilish smile; her eyes were glinting with delight. “And he will again.”

Daily Prompt: Mountain

From The Grey House:

It wasn’t hard to find her; she was returning to the house. The scent of blood was all about her. She had probably caught and eaten a rabbit. They were rampant in these mountains but challenging to catch. He greeted her playfully, allowed her to show her dominance over him then licked her jaw where she had missed a spot of blood. She let him up and instinct almost took over. The buzzing in his head stopped him from running off to find a hare of his own. He stopped and howled at his alpha. She stopped, and cocked her shaggy gray head at her mate, wondering at his game. He concentrated then turned back into a human. Charlie shifted uncomfortably on the rocky ground and waited.

Daily Prompt: Conversation

From The Grey House:

He felt as Mierka sat up, slipped on a robe she had found in the bathroom earlier, and went to the door. She had retrieved her rifle and held it at the ready as the door opened slowly. Vincent heard a whispered conversation and sat up, waiting for Mierka to let Joseph in. Instead, she turned back to Vincent and closed the door behind her.

Daily Prompt: Scratch

From The Grey House:

Rebecca was drinking a bad cup of coffee, wishing the safe house were across the street from a good coffee shop. She had been in worse surveillance situations though and shut her mind to the chatter. She watched Natalia out of the corner of her eye, wondering how she was going to get the homing device on the woman. It was a small device, designed to look like a quarter. It was marred on one side, as if someone had scratched up the backside. Rebecca was now twirling it slowly between her fingers, considering her options.

Daily Prompt: Nervous

From The Grey House:

“When they have a healer. Not sure how long that’ll take.”

“I guess that gives me some time. Do you need to get back to the estates?”

“I’m your guard. I go where you go.” He gave her a grin.

She laughed. “Why are you enjoying that so much?”

“Kind of fun. Also, I prefer not being around the vampires. I like them, but sometimes they make me nervous.”

“And nervous werewolves are bad.”

“Yep. Although we should probably head back to the estates before the full moon.”

“When is that?”

“Eight days.”

“Keep reminding me.”

“Yep.” He turned away from the stove. “Foods ready.”

Daily Prompt: Put

From The Grey House:

Tony laughed. “No worries. Buy you a drink or something?”

“Um…” She wanted to turn the talk to something else and looked around to see if anyone else was close by. A noise in the distance caught her attention but faded too quickly. “Not really a drinker.” She turned back to him. “You don’t really seem to be either.”

They stared at each other for a moment before he put his drink down. “This doesn’t feel like a social call anymore.”

The noise came again, and Natalia’s breath caught. The patio was fenced off but faced an alley. The fence was shoulder high and was only there to keep people from wandering into the alley with a drink in hand. There were voices coming down the alley and she could now hear them.

“You’re sure he’s here?” The gruff voice chided.

“Yes. Check his Facebook.” This voice was younger.

“I don’t even understand what you said.”

Daily Prompt: Spread

From The Grey House:

The howling stopped and the silence that ensued was thrilling. Natalia, glad the Slayers couldn’t see her face, gave an evil smile. Her eyes gleamed impishly as desire spread through her body. When the front door was ripped off the frame, she inhaled through clenched teeth, desperately trying to control her true feelings. When Vincent stepped through the door, she nearly lost control.

Daily Prompt: Due

From The Grey House:

As he led the way upstairs, Natalia contemplated her situation. Due to the angel’s voices in their head, some Slayers in the area probably already knew she was a vampire’s woman. It wouldn’t take long for most of the Slayers and Hellspawn to find out, and where would that leave her in her search for Donald? She hadn’t heard a thing about him in years, but it was a big world, and he could be anywhere. Natalia came back to the present when Charlie opened the door to the kitchen.

“Oh, wow.” The kitchen was half the size of her house.

Daily Prompt: Cry

From The Grey House:

Bethany hurried out of the booth and nearly fled from the restaurant. Natalia closed her eyes and tried not to cry. Her best friend was gone and would probably never call her again. It was for the best, but it stung how easy it was to change Bethany’s mind.
