Daily Prompt: Death

From The Grey House:

Natalia finally felt fear, and her desires shut down. She had been trying to prepare for this moment mentally, but it still brought memories of her mother’s death. She gripped Vincent’s leg harder as she entwined her other hand in his hair. She tried to pull his head away, being careful not to act panicked. Reminding herself she still had the upper hand, she squeezed her eyes shut and clamped down on her fear. She was breathing hard and her heart was still pounding, but her fear passed. She pulled harder on his hair, and he growled with pleasure.

Daily Prompt: Ask

From The Grey House:

“I spent all that time thinking I was keeping her safe. I forgot about Bethany’s parents. They’re divorced now, but they still care about her so much. If she had been kidnapped, they would have done everything they could to find her. I forgot about that because I was too worried about her. It pisses me off.”

He turned his head to look at her sharply. “Why?”

She sighed heavily. “Because all this time, while trying to save my friend, she was living it up.” She shook her head. “Probably not really living it up, but she was fine. I didn’t ask for proof, I just assumed I had to take care of her.”

Daily Prompt: Mutual

From The Grey House:

Due to the shift of power, Vincent revised his plan and told his friends to scatter until they were needed. He kept a small amount of people in San Francisco and around the Bay Area to make sure he was kept safe. As his lands were not in the city, only his businesses, Vincent did not have to worry about Edwin trying to kill him. Also, Edwin took a certain amount of pleasure in sparing verbally with Vincent about their mutual hatred of each other. The younger vampire brought up the attempt on Christopher’s life almost every time Vincent was in earshot. He thought it was funny that Vincent could not take over the city.

Daily Prompt: Standard

From The Grey House:

The bathroom was large but standard. The room contained a toilet and a sink. There was a built in linen closet and medicine cabinet, both of which were filled with items that would be found in any household. Natalia surmised it was for the humans. She used the restroom and left, going right back to the kitchen. Charlie was talking to a man with ebony skin. He was as tall as she and Charlie, but thinner. There was something about him that commanded respect.

Daily Prompt: Open

From The Grey House:

The smell of the place hit him like a brick the second the door started to open. Vincent turned his head slightly, thankful he didn’t have to breathe. The smell was hard down here: this was a place of death and decay. He saw the crossbow point before he saw Mierka. Vincent smiled at her once the door was fully opened. The petite blond looked at his face carefully before moving the crossbow. He leaned in and kissed her cheek.

Daily Prompt: Contact

From The Grey House:

“Good. When you wake up, you’re going to remember an appointment. You’re going to say goodbye and rush out, headed home. By the time you get home, you’re going to realize it’s best not to contact me anymore. You’re going to think that having me as a friend is a very bad idea. One of my boy friends may end up hurting you. We’ve had a good friendship, but enough is enough. You have to look out for yourself.”

Daily Prompt: Lot

From The Gery House:

She stood with her mouth open for a moment then a happy look came into her eyes. “I have a feeling I’m going to be thanking you for a lot of things regarding my house, but I’m waiting for more surprises until tomorrow. I’m going to bed.”

Daily Prompt: Father

The Grey House:

Keith was staring at him. “What are you going to do to me, sire?”

Vincent sighed. “I was impressed with you the first time I saw you. It was your first day at The Red Thread, remember? You handled the situation so well. While most of your co-workers ran, you remembered your training and used it. I saw so much potential.” Vincent was now holding Keith’s head in his hands, gently, like a father with his son. “I really believed you were stronger than this. You have been tested time and time again, and with each test you proved your loyalty. Do you know how many vampires I’ve created in my three hundred years on this earth? Eight.”

Daily Prompt: Carry

From The Grey House:

He laughed. “Because yeah, the bastard has a dungeon.” He paused, took her shake from her and took a large sip. “Hey that’s pretty good.” He handed the cup back, ignoring the annoyed look on her face. “So, I woke up in a cage, in a dungeon. There were other cages. Most held wolves. Two others held humans. About two minutes after I woke up, a short woman walked in carrying robes. She handed me one without saying anything, then placed the two others on the cages of the two other guys. They were still asleep.”

Daily Prompt: Money

From The Grey House:

Joseph caught Vincent’s look before it was tucked away and hidden. No one else saw the look, but Mierka did sense a change. She caught Rebecca’s eye and saw the woman signal Charlie. Richard was handled while money was left on the table for the meals. The werewolves left, heading for the car. Their instructions were to be at the limo first. Charlie was at the car first and held the door open for Vincent and Joseph. Mierka went to the driver seat, Rebecca went to the front passenger and Charlie got in back. He sat by the door and tried to ignore the conversation.
