Daily Prompt: Row

From The Grey House, Book One:

Vincent smiled then walked passed her to the row of dungeons. There were ten rooms, most ten by ten. The largest was a three hundred square foot room. There were two guards in front of its door. They greeted him as one held the door for him. Inside were three more guards, a thin human holding a scroll, Joseph, and his three vigilant door bouncers from The Red Thread.

Daily Prompt: File

From the Grey House, Book One:

Vincent had not expected her to be so willing. He had thought, after reading the file Joseph compiled, that he would have to kill her. Vincent had learned, through the years, that although female Slayers were not as powerful, their righteousness and belief often ran deeper and stronger than in male Slayers, making them deadlier. Maybe she wasn’t a Slayer.

Daily Prompt: Evening

From The Grey House, Book One:

Vincent could almost feel her against him. A groan escaped him. Their encounter had left him wanting. He had enough willing women to keep him satisfied, but it had been a long time since he had felt a need this profound. He took a deep breath to try and steady his thoughts. He shook his head and continued down the steps. At least this evening’s business would help alleviate his frustrations.

Daily Prompt: Eye

From The Grey House, Book One:

Her eyes grew big in fake surprise. “Oh goodness, no! I saw you here awhile back and then thought I saw you online.”

Daily Prompt: Tear

From The Grey House, Book One:

Keith started to protest then simply hung his head. His voice was muted, but he did sound remorseful. “I was weak. Sire, forgive me.” Vincent walked around the hole, stopping at Keith’s side. Rebecca moved one step away. Keith raised his head. Pink tears were running down his face. “Anything but this, please.”

Daily Prompt: Resign

From The Grey House, Book One:

Keith, the vampire, had been working for Vincent for almost five years. He understood the rules. He had seen three of Vincent’s people lose their lives for not following the rules. He knew what to expect and seemed resigned to his death.

Daily Prompt: Belt

From The Grey House, Book One:

Natalia woke with a start from a dream that left her foggy and confused. Her bed was moving and lights kept flashing. Her mouth was dry, her shoulder hurt and her stomach was growling at her. The dream came back to her in bits and pieces as did her surroundings. Charlie was beside her, asking if she was all right. A piece of her dream floated into her memory and she bolted upright in the seat. The belt tightened around her torso and dug into her shoulder. She howled with pain, startling Charlie. He pulled over to the side of the road and stopped.

Daily Prompt: Accountant

From The Grey House, Book One:

Vincent normally let his accountant take care of the paperwork, therefore, when he arrived unannounced, Richard nearly fainted. Vincent was in the neighborhood and had nothing better to do then to pester his manager. Vincent enjoyed throwing Richard off balance. The surprise inspections kept Richard and the rest of the staff on their toes. The Ocean’s Edge was a five-star restaurant; Vincent expected it to stay that way, which was one of the reasons he was here at midnight on a Monday. It was early for Vincent, late for Richard.

Daily Prompt: Address

From The Grey House, Book One:

Vincent paced in front of them, feeling the fear and hate rolling off the three. It gave him pleasure to keep them waiting. Finally, he turned to them and spoke. His voice was mild, as if addressing a group of businessmen at a luncheon.

Daily Prompt: Bless

From The Grey House, Book Three, Protector of the Grey House:

“We have a place to hide it. No one will know. It’s a blessing no one of Edwin’s thought to stay behind.” Vincent looked at Charlie, who was holding the sword nonchalantly. He caught the werewolf’s eye. “Follow Joseph. The rest of you are relieved for the night.”
