From Protector of the Grey House:
“Hey.” Rebecca walked to Natalia, who sat at a table outside by the fence.
Natalia nodded but didn’t say anything. The werewolf sat down across from her and sipped at her beer.
“How are you feeling?”
“I don’t know. I think that’s what I’m trying to figure out.” She rubbed her temples with her hand, as if to prevent a headache.
“Ok, so you can totally bow out. We can go upstairs, find Mierka, tell her to hell with it and leave. Isn’t this your decision?”
“Yes, but…” She frowned. “You reminded me a lot of Charlie right there.”
Rebecca smiled. “Happens when you’re in a long relationship. You sometimes look like Vincent. Or rather, you get a look in your eye like he does.”
Natalia smiled a little but didn’t know what to say.
“So, want to leave or what?”
“You think I should, don’t you?”
“I think you should do what you want, which is what you always do.”
