Vincent stepped forward seemingly to protect Natalia. He didn’t like the look Kari gave his lover. The daggers Kari’s eyes threw at Natalia made him understand Natalia’s reluctance to speak in front of Kari.
“I wish to speak with my top people first, and Natalia understands this.” He looked at Julia, Kari and Markus. “Leave us. Go feed. We’ll bring you up to date if necessary.”
Kari shrank back into herself but glowered at the human. She opened her mouth to speak but the room’s double doors opened loudly and stopped her. Joseph strolled in to usher out the younger vampires. Vincent led the way to his study, where he could speak privately with Anthony and Natalia in relative comfort.
